Song lyrics again...

I was thinking the other day that every once in a while songs have excellent lines buried in their lyrics....You know those lines that you can relate to. I was listening to Gladys Knight, and one of my favorite lines is

"You're like a diamond, but she treats you like glass." If I Was Your Woman, Gladys Knight
I like that line, I know many of us have experience this...where there's some wonderful person that most would kill to date, and they're with a bitchy evil partner, and you just wonder why.

Another good one that's more recent would be

"If you don't want me, then don't talk to me." Free Yourself, Fantasia Barrino
This is a good one I can relate to also...leading people on is just plain WRONG...

And another good one, that makes me laugh...

"Is that your ass, or is yo' momma half reindeer." It's Gettin' Hot In Hurrr, Nelly
I always laugh when I hear that one.

I'll post more as I think of them...

Long time no write!

But boy do I have some storys for you. And they're both NASTY...

Sept 15th...I'm on my way to my car to go to an interview that I had at i.c.stars which is a wonderful non profit organization. So obviously since I'm on my way to an interview I'm dressed business casual, slacks, long sleeve shirt...normal enough...So I see someone in a car driving by and they're waving, so I wave back (I always wave when people wave at me, so later on I don't have to hear...I saw you and wave, but you didn't wave back, acting like you're too good to wave.) So then the car pulls over, and waves at me to come over there, so I'm like well it must be someone that knows me...so I walk over to the car and there's this 70+ year old white guy in the car, so now I'm like he must want directions...so here's our conversation:

Nicold: Can I help you?
Old Creepy Guy: How far are you going?
N: I'm going to my car.
OCG: Oh, you have a car.
N: Yes, well that's nice of you to try to offer me a ride.
OCG: Where are you going?
N: I'm going to an interview.
OCG: Where at?
N: River North.
OCG: (Looking disappointed) Oh I was hoping we could spend some time together.
N: Do I know you? (I'm forgetful, figured maybe I knew him from somewhere)
OCG: No but I was hoping we could get to know each other. (if possible, looking even more creepy)
N: I'm so not that kind of girl dude...

And I walked away to my car....all I can say is EW!

Then on Monday Sept 19th...I went to another interview at the same place, and this time I decided to take the el...So about three stops in , this guy comes in the same train car I'm in by coming through the emergency door, the train wasn't very crowded then, but so I'm sitting in the seats that face each other, and he sits in a seat that's facing those seats, he sits down and opens the paper, and you know when riding the train and bopping to music, you look around, out the windows, at the other people on the train...and so I glance over near him and he scratches his privates...and of course I'm like why would I look right when he's doing that. EW...So I notice that every time I look in his direction he's not scratching, he's masturbating through his shorts. GROSS, and he only does it when I look in that direction, so he obviously wants me to see him, so I just ignored him. So he did this for like 20-30 minutes, and I started to get scared, because I thought he was going to get off when I did, and I didn't have on running shoes, and I didn't think I had my boxcutter, but I did...whew lol. Then he gets up about 5 stops before mine and goes and stands in front of the door, looking at me and licking his lips...GROSS! Did I mention that by this time the train was full, and while he was sitting down, I was the only one on the train who could see what he was doing...the only way other person that could have seen him is if someone else sat next to me which they didn't or if the guy that sat across the aisle from him DIDN'T FALL ASLEEP...dammit lol. Oh well luckily he got off about three stops before mine, I'm still grossed out. Perverts!

Kanye West @ the Red Cross Benefit

Wow, I just saw this video (avi file), and I was a little shocked lol. He just said all of what was on his mind. The Red Cross and NBC have already issued statements denouncing what happened. He came out and said at the end before the cut to Chris Tucker, that "George Bush doesn't care about black people." All of what was on his mind. I'm hoping this doesn't affect donations to the Red Cross. Although I kinda agree with most of what he said, I don't think that was the right place for it. But at the same time, I think that people who were going to give are going to give, if that turns them off from giving then they have a problem. Some people on the site Confederate Yankee are making comments that they will be donating the money to the Salvation Army instead of the Red Cross, which is fine, as long as it's going to the same place, I'm thinking it doesn't matter how it gets there. I wish there was something I could do to help, but alas there is not.

I'm also not understanding why people aren't allowed to loot freely, since pretty much anything left there is going to be destroyed or scrapped anyways...Let the people have the crap. No point in killing someone over some food or a stereo. I'm assuming that the businesses' insurance will have to cover this anyways (maybe I'm confused on this point, I'm not completely sure how all this works).

I was having the discussion with a couple friends of why didn't they assist those who didn't have transportation to evacuate to flee to safety. I don't understand is why they didn't set up areas in the two days before to bus people who couldn't afford to leave out of the area. Because I don't think that most of the people that stayed there actually wanted to stay. So for the people that weren't actually refusing to leave, why didn't they make some sort of arrangements to get them out of there. I've been wondering about this for a few days now, wasn't this feasibly possible?

It really sucks that this whole tragedy was predicted 3 years ago, and from what I understand funding had been cut to try to combat the problem. It's crazy what gets funding and what goes untouched in this country. What is a person to do to help?

Job hunt | Music Videos | New singer Leela James | NOLA

I went to a temp agency on Tuesday to apply for work, they had me do various tests, and one was a typing test, which is no problem for me, I type 75 wpm...But they had me do it on a typewriter, it was like a flash back to high school. I'm glad I learned on a typewriter to start off, I wonder if younger people who haven't ever used a typewriter before would be slowed down. I guess the keys are in the same spot, but there was no word wrap lol. Gotta love word wrap.

Can anyone clue me in to how music videos are made. I'm confused as to how they sync up the vocals to the imagery so well. I used to think that they recorded sound when they recorded video when I was younger, but videos were much simpler then, now they're all extra involved with mini movies playing and stuff. So how do they sync it up so well? I guess I need to research this. This really began bothering me on that N'Sync Song that Justin Timberlake beat boxed at the end of...it was perfectly synced in the video, and I'm thinking that no one beat boxes the exact same way every time, do they?

Anyways...

Does anyone else think that Leela James sounds like Joss Stone, their voices are very similar. It's a weird voice. Doesn't look like it's coming out of her body, more believeable from Joss, which makes it even stranger.

Those poor people in New Orleans and areas of MS. I hope that everyone who's survived stays safe. I guess I can't complain about not having a job/money/etc, when these people just lost almost everything they own. So I'm thankful to God for what I have, it's not much, but it's better than nothing. Although I wish one of the looters would salvage a laptop and mail it to me, I really need one lol.

Well I got my car back on Thursday

Thanks to two of my good friends A. and D....Thanks ya'll! Now to find some more work, freelance work, or donations, or something...sheesh, life was not supposed to be this hard. But on a better note...I went to the annual Nappnic today (Nappturality Picnic). It was quite lovely, such a great group of fellow nappyheads...

Pictures of last years and this years can be viewed on my site.

Peace...

Song lyrics???!

Ok I accidently listened to the radio the other day (I almost never listen now because music is starting to suck). But that Akon, Locked Up song came on....Now number one I don't like his voice...there are some dancehall reggae artists that have that nasally weird voice too...which reminds me of why I didn't like Shaggy....Give me some Bob, Jimmy, Buju or somebody. But anywho...back on the subject of that song...when I first heard it I didn't really listen to the words...I just knew he was locked up and wanted someone to send him some money orders...but I listened to the words the other day, and came to the conclusion that.............his ass should be locked up...his car was stolen, he didn't have registration, he was selling drugs....I mean really...don't you think he should be locked up?

Aaaaaaaaarg!

My car got booted :(...I have to pay like 900+ bucks to get the boot off...I'm going in tomororw...and of course I don't have that kind of money...Hopefully they'll take a downpayment. I have 10 tickets ...the tickets are for like tinted windows( i'm from indiana, and that's where i bought the car from)...not having a plate on the front of my car (again car's from indiana, didn't have holes in the front, I was told by the dmv to just put the plate in the back window) and I didn't have enought to pay someone to put the holes in (most places told me at least 60 bucks, I finally found some small place to do it for like 15 bucks)....not having a city sticker (when i moved here my landlady said i didn't need one) turns out she was talking about the neighborhood stickers and not the city stickers (she's not from here))...and for street cleaning parking (i don't leave the house everyday, so I never know when they're going to do it..they need a set schedule)...

I called them months before it got this bad to try to set up a payment plan when I only owed about 300-400 and they said they only give payment plans to people who owe over 600 bucks...they said i could pay on them, but my car will still get booted, so I didn't even bother...

URG and did i mention...Aaaaaaaaaaaaarg...

And of course since I just started working..I'm trying to catch up on all my bills (I was 3 mo behind w/my rent...) I had just paid it down to 1 month and now I can't pay the last one because of my car...of course my landlady is very upset about this :(. What to do, what to do...

Anyone know a way to earn between 20 and 50 dollars per day LEGALLY? That would help me out a lot.... I'll make sure to make a silly post to counter all this negativity....
